Reykjavik, Iceland (January, 2006) – Hugmot announces the release of AcuteFinder, a program for the Windows operating system. AcuteFinder makes it easy to find duplicate files on your computer and remove them. This frees up space, makes backups faster, and leaves your hard disk less cluttered.

AcuteFinder has an intuitive interface and is really easy-to-use. The program is also extremely safe to use and calculates checksums in order to determine exact duplicates. AcuteFinder also examines timestamp, size, and file name. Users can use the product with confidence knowing that the files they remove are truly duplicates.

AcuteFinder can find identical files even if those files have different file names. Because it checks both file size and checksum, the program is not fooled by identical files with different names. By helping to remove duplicate files, AcuteFinder speeds up processes like backups, virus scans, disk indexes, disk searches, and the like. The removal of duplicate files that waste space is especially important when there are limited resources.

AcuteFinder is fast and accurate, using a 32-bit checksum by default. For increased accuracy the user may also elect to use the program’s 128-bit mode of comparison. AcuteFinder makes computers better organized and helps them to run smoother.

AcuteFinder will run under Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. It requires 32MB of RAM and 4.0MB of free hard disk space. VGA graphics with a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 is suggested.
